We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Braulio, who guided our group of seven on a meaningful journey into the culture, traditions, and community of the Bribri people in the Talamanca region.
What made the experience truly special was Braulio himself. His deep knowledge, genuine empathy, and profound respect for the Bribri community allowed us to go far beyond simply “visiting” a place. He gave us all the time we needed to listen, understand, connect, and truly immerse ourselves in the encounter, without ever making us feel rushed.
We spent truly meaningful, quality time together, learning not only about Bribri culture and traditions, but also about the people, their values, and their relationship with their land and community. Braulio’s sensitivity and humanity touched our hearts and made the whole experience feel authentic, respectful, and deeply personal.
We came away with much more than beautiful memories: we felt enriched by the people we met and by everything Braulio helped us understand and appreciate.
We are deeply grateful. An unforgettable experience that we would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who wants to discover the Bribri culture in a genuine and respectful way.
Thank you, Braulio, for opening the door to such a special encounter.
Super recomendado!!

If you’re visiting the Puerto Viejo/Bribri area, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Braulio. We ended up booking him twice because our first experience was so incredible!
The first day, he took us on a cacao tour in Bribri, and it was one of the most authentic, educational experiences we’ve had. He shared so much about the Bribri culture, cacao, local plants, wildlife, and the surrounding towns. My kids (ages 4, 6, and 6) asked him endless questions, and he answered every one with so much patience. He even taught them Spanish throughout the day, which they loved.
We enjoyed our first tour so much that we booked Braulio again for a waterfall hike. Once again, he went above and beyond. He helped us safely navigate the trails, crossed the river with us to take us to the best spots, and even took amazing family photos that we’ll treasure forever. Traveling solo with three young children can be challenging, and having someone so attentive, experienced, and willing to lend a hand made me feel safe and able to actually enjoy the adventure.
Braulio is professional, knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He never seemed bothered by all the questions from my kids and made every part of both tours fun, engaging, and educational.
I can’t recommend him enough. If you’re looking for an authentic local experience with someone who truly cares about his guests, Braulio is your guy.
10/10. We would absolutely book with him again!
From the moment our guide Braulio picked us up the adventure began. He took us through the history and culture of his Bribri people. We learned about the jungle of plants, many that we use in our own kitchen, and how to make chocolate from fruit to finished product. The Bribri people were very kind and hospitable. He safely guided us to the waterfall that was very refreshing and satisfying. Overall it was a great experience that we will never forget.
Braulio is intimately knowledgeable with the BriBri tribe and the hosting family. He proceeds to lead you on a tour of their history, food, culture and lots of interaction with a wonderful family. Highly recommended
This tour was informative and enjoyable. The tour guide is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Costa Rica. He spoke about Panama as well. He is a change agent within the culture here welcoming tourism and seeing the vision of beauty within diversity. My favorite parts were learning about local medicinal plants and swimming at the waterfall. Bring dollars if you would like beer, water, or coco loco at the waterfall area. There are bathrooms to change. We liked the guide so much that we booked another tour today (kayak experience). Highly recommend.
